Control of linear and nonlinear resistive wall modes
Control of linear and nonlinear resistive wall modes (RWMs) is studied with a model that assumes: (1) a single Fourier harmonic of the normal component of the magnetic field is measured at the resisti...

Theory of second harmonic generation in plasma crystals
Second harmonic generation in plasma crystals is studied. Starting from a linear chain model, a set of coupled nonlinear differential equations for second harmonic generation is derived. It is shown t...

Some controversy exists over the role of weak or reversed shear in the formation of internal transport barriers. One theory attributes the formation of internal transport barriers to a gap in global wave structures in the minimum-q region. It is shown that in general no such gap exists, and that energy transport is smooth and increasing across such a minimum-q region. ©2004 American Institute of Physics.
