A subscription is required to access the following features:
- Viewing hyperlinked reference sections in abstracts
- Viewing/downloading/printing full-text articles in
PDF and Gzipped PostScript formats.
NOTE: Searching, Tables of Contents and abstracts (without references) continue to be freely available to non-subscribers. PDF versions
of the articles may be purchased by non-subscribers via the Scitation
DocumentStore (simply click on a PDF link in any table of contents or abstract).
Accessing features that require a subscription have
changed in the following way:
- Individual member subscribers will be prompted for a username
and password when they attempt to access a resource or feature that requires
a subscription.
- Corporate member subscribers (users at a subscribing
institution) will see no difference since they will be authenticated by IP address(es)
provided by the subscribing institution (no login screen will appear
when accessing a resource or feature that requires a subscription)

HOW DO I ENSURE CONTINUED ACCESS?
To ensure that you experience no loss of
access to the Journal of Laser Applications, please follow the
instructions below appropriate to your subscriber
type:
LIA Membership
- Make sure
you've paid for your LIA membership for journal access in 2009 (you must
be a paid up member to qualify for online access).
Current subscription rates are available at:
http://www.laserinstitute.org/membership/.
Questions about your subscription status can be directed to the
appropriate point of contact below.
- Once you've paid for your membership, you will
receive an e-mail with instructions about registering for access to the Journal of Laser Applications online.
The email will provide a unique passcode that you will need to register. The registration process consists of a few simple steps:
- Go to the registration web site address specified in the e-mail.
- Enter your membership ID or account number and your e-mail address.
- Enter the unique passcode from the e-mail.
- Select a username and password.
- Read and agree to the terms and conditions of the LIA Online User License (you will receive a confirmation e-mail from Scitation).

LIA Members -- Is your email address up to date?
LIA members will receive an automatic email with registration instructions soon. If you are a current LIA member and you do not receive the registration email, you may need to update your email address.

SUBSCRIPTION
- Institutional administrators who manage online subscriptions must make sure your institution has a paid up subscription for journal access in 2009.

The below form is an Institutional Single Site User License* in PDF format which should be signed and returned as soon as possible. This license includes a section pertaining to the IP addresses that you wish to authorize. For help with your IP addresses, please see your institution's System Administrator. Your email address is needed in order to receive notification of successful setup of your online access, so please print your e-mail address clearly on the form.

- Once you've paid for your subscription and returned a
signed user agreement with verifiable IP address
information, you will receive an e-mail confirmation that IP access to the Journal of Laser Applications
has been established. If you already subscribe to other Scitation
journals, you will be notified that the Journal of Laser Applications has been added to your subscription along with any new IPs.
