AIP Conference Proceedings 747

Conference Location and Date: Marseille, France, 26-28 July 2004

Subseries: Nuclear and High Energy Physics

Published February 2005; ISBN 0-7354-0232-9, One Volume, Print; 285 pages; 6 3/8 X 9 1/4 inches; Hardcover; $136.00

Readership: Scientists and researchers involved in the fields of theoretical and experimental nuclear and high energy particle physics

All papers were peer reviewed. The main purpose of the conference was to improve our understanding of the nucleon structure in the valence quark region, namely where the Bjorken x variable is large, a region so far poorly known. Many theoretical ideas were presented and suggestions were made for new experiments in present facilities or in future high luminosity machines. Recent data from several laboratories were shown for the first time and discussed extensively, which witnessed substantial progress in this field.
