What is an APS Article Pack?
An APS Article Pack is a bulk discount purchase of any 20 APS articles from Physical Review Letters, Physical Review A - E and Physical Review Online Archive (PROLA). You may search and browse the APS Physical Review journals and any full-text article you download will be added to your Article Pack. Your Pack will remain active for one full year in coordination with your APS membership term, thus during that time you will maintain full access to all of your downloaded articles and may select new articles with any unused portion of your Pack. For APS members, Article Packs represent a significant savings over single-article purchases. Users will be limited to a single 20-article APS pack annually, and will not be permitted to purchase another pack until their annual membership renewal.

Will I be charged (debited) for "correction" articles?
Downloaded articles that include links to "correction" articles, such as Errata, Publisher's Notes, Corrected Articles, Editorial Notes, and Retractions, are debited as a single article. Users will not be charged for these articles if the source article or the linked article was previously purchased. These articles will appear on the Account Summary as a related article. The related articles will be indented with the source article appearing above, in bold.

How can I monitor my download history and check to see how many downloads I have left?
To view your download history or to check to see how many downloads are remaining in your account, login to your personal Account Summary where the following information is provided:
  • The articles in your download history are listed by the date and time they were downloaded.
  • Each title in the list is linked to the article abstract.
  • Each article in the list includes links to the full-text PDF and PS files.
  • Each article in the list will include the "correction" article information and links to the full-text PDF and PS files, if applicable.
  • Your download total, remaining downloads, and the expiration date of your account are indicated toward the top of the page.
The Member Article Pack Account Summary Page also features three on-screen warnings to alert you when you have five downloads remaining, two downloads remaining, and when you've exhausted your downloads. These on-screen alerts are complemented by e-mail notifications.

How much time do I have to download my articles?
You may select and download your allotted articles over the course of a 12-month period. Rights to download new articles cease in two cases: (1) all articles have been downloaded, or (2) the 12-month period has elapsed. If you exhaust all of your downloads prior to the end of the 12-month period, you will still be able to view previously downloaded articles and your account summary until the end of the 12-month term.
For how long will my Article Pack account remain active?
Your account will be considered active for the entire 12-month period of your subscription, regardless of the number of downloads remaining in your pack. With an active account, you will be able to access your entire account history and view previously downloaded articles. If you choose not to renew your pack before the end of this 12-month period, your account becomes inactive and all access will be terminated.
What happens to any remaining downloads in my subscription if I choose not to renew at the end of the 12-month period?
Any unused downloads will be forfeited at the end of your 12-month subscription, unless a renewal membership and subscription payment is received by APS.
What happens to my "Article Pack Summary" if I choose not to renew and allow my account to become inactive?
Inactive accounts will become disabled and you will no longer be able to access your Member Article Pack personal summary. For disabled accounts, AIP will store the download history in the Member Article Pack Summary for one year after the expiration date of the account. If, before the end of this time, you choose to renew, all of your download history will appear once again in your account and any unused downloads will be credited to your account. For example, if you had 5 unused downloads on a 20 article APS Pack and you renew within one year from your expiration date, your account will now have 25 downloads remaining.
