Acoustics Research Letters Online — ARLO
CODEN: ARLOFJ  |  ISSN:  1529-7853

The Journal
Acoustics Research Letters Online, or ARLO, is the quarterly international electronic letters journal of acoustics, published in January, April, July, and October by the Acoustical Society of America. ARLO serves physical scientists, engineers, psychologists, physiologists, architects, musicians, and speech communication specialists who wish to report the results of their research in acoustics in letter-sized contributions.

Articles are published electronically one at a time. Four "issues" are produced annually. For more information on journal features, software requirements, etc., please consult the Online Help.

Access to ARLO is free online to all individuals with internet browsers (the latest version of Netscape or Internet Explorer is required).

Subject Coverage and Contents
ARLO, an international electronic letters journal of the Acoustical Society of America, serves physical scientists, life scientists, engineers, psychologists, physiologists, architects, musicians, and speech communication specialists who wish to report the results of their research in acoustics in letter-sized contributions.

Subject coverage includes:

  • linear and nonlinear acoustics
  • aeroacoustics
  • underwater sound and acoustical oceanography
  • ultrasonics and quantum acoustics
  • architectural acoustics and structural acoustics and vibration
  • speech, music, and noise
  • psychology and physiology of hearing
  • engineering acoustics, sound transducers, and measurements
  • biomedical acoustics
  • acoustic signal processing, and computational acoustics.
ARLO contributions can include color and multimedia content, which is archived. All submissions to ARLO are done electronically and online through Peer X-press the manuscript management system. All papers are peer-reviewed through this system as well.

Subscription Information and Rates
Publication Frequency: ARLO articles are referenced by volume (one per year) and issue (four per year). Articles are posted online as they are published, on an "article-at-a-time" basis, to minimize the time between submission and publication.

Subject to the terms and conditions given below, ARLO is free online to all individuals with internet browsers (the latest version of Netscape or Internet Explorer is required).

Online access to ARLO is available to institutions at the subscription rate of $150 per year. This fee supports the editorial process, internet posting, archiving, and the migration of content (including multimedia) to newer formats. Orders for subscriptions to ARLO should be sent to:

CD-ROM
ARLO articles appear on the same bimonthly CD-ROM that includes the Journal of the Acoustical Society of America. The last CD-ROM of the year contains the entire year's publication. At the present time, this CD-ROM is only provided to subscribers of the Journal of the Acoustical Society of America.
