The American Institute of Physics, one of the world's largest publishers of information in the physical sciences and a leader in the field of electronic publishing, announced the launch today of its new mobile e-Reader application, iResearch. iResearch was developed to provide physicists, engineers, scientists, and students, with mobile access to valuable physics journal content. Users may access iResearch via the Apple iTunes store to download the application for version 3.0 and higher.

The beta editions are largely separate from the current online editions, but share some components, and are accessible directly from within each journal. In addition to new features and a new rendering of publication content, the beta publications are also running atop Scitation's new C3 infrastructure. This infrastructure facilitates faster development and incremental deployment of new features, which end-users will be able to test and provide feedback on throughout the beta period.

The site (spiedigitallibrary.org/ebooks), hosted on AIP's Scitation C3 platform, provides collections of SPIE Press books to institutions, including the option to purchase individual book chapters. The eBooks are fully integrated into the SPIE Digital Library so that researchers and students are now able to cross-search and access journals, proceedings, and books on a single site.
