The video formats currently supported by the Gallery of Fluid Motion are Quicktime and Windows Media.

To be able to play [Quicktime] and [Windows Media] movies and sounds, download their plug-ins.

Web Browser

The Gallery of Fluid Motion video clips are best viewed when using Netscape 4.x or Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.x

Download [Netscape Navigator] and [Microsoft Internet Explorer].

Browser Configuration

In order to enable your browser to accept streaming video, you must configure your Preferences correctly.

Netscape Navigator for Windows and Macintosh
or
Internet Explorer for the Macintosh

EDIT menu.
Select Preferences and choose Applications or Receiving Files.
Add a New helper with the following information in the appropriate fields.

 
To run Quicktime as a standalone application:

Description: Quicktime Movie

Extension: .mov, .qt
MIME Type: application/x-quicktimeplayer
Handled By: Quicktime Player
 
To run Quicktime as a plug-in:
Description: Quicktime Plug-in
Extension: .qtl
MIME Type: video/quicktime
 
Internet Explorer 4.0 on Windows
 
Right click on My Computer.
In the Windows Explorer, click View then Options.
Click the File Types tab. Add a New helper with the following information in the appropriate fields.
 
Description: Quicktime Movie
Extension: .mov, .qt
MIME Type: application/x-quicktimeplayer
  
Click the Edit button, enter the following information in the Action dialog box.
Action open.
Application used to perform action browse to the location of the application Quicktime.
Click OK; then click Close.
