The 21st International Workshop on Bayesian Inference and Maximum Entropy Methods in Science and Engineering

Robert L. Fry, Johns Hopkins University, Applied Physics Laboratory, Laurel, MD, USA

AIP Conference Proceedings 617

Conference Location and Date: Baltimore, Maryland, 4-9 August 2001

Subseries: Mathematical and Statistical Physics

Published May 2002; ISBN 0-7354-0063-6, One Volume, Print; 545 pages; 6 3/8 X 9 1/4 inches; Hardcover; $175.00

Readership: Applied mathematicians; analyzers of large data sets.

The annual Bayesian Inference and Maximum Entropy Methods in Science and Engineering (MaxEnt) workshop addresses the development of theoretical and applied aspects of inductive logic. Applied aspects deal with automated reasoning and decision making in the presence of uncertainty. Theoretical aspects of inductive logic provide a means of capturing fundamental aspects of theoretical physics. Topics include: estimation and inferencing, signal separation and restoration, applications in physics, tomography and imaging, theoretical physics, and inductive logic theory.
