Subseries: Astronomy and Astrophysics; Nuclear and High Energy Physics Published July 2002; ISBN 0-7354-0073-3, One Volume, Print; 383 pages; 6 3/8 X 9 1/4 inches; Hardcover; $145.00 Readership: Astrophysicists; physics students; cosmologists; theoretical physicists. This series of conferences, which began in 1964, has focused on gravitation, and other weakly coupled forces along with unification pertaining to electromagnetism, weak and strong interactions. Among the most important concepts are expansion of the universe and the recent observations referred to as "the expansion with increased acceleration." Furthermore, total matter content of the universe does not just consist of ordinary matter, but it is presumed that new concepts of dark energy and dark matter are advanced to explain the detailed nature of the universe. Some of the important topics that were discussed at the conference were a quartet of attractive and repulsive forces (arising from a unification of electromagnetic and gravitational forces), the cosmological constant and its role in the accelerated expansion of the universe, fermions mass hierarchy, Anti de Sitter/Conformal Field Theory, the study of neutrinos in several experimental and theoretical contexts, CP violations in a number of systems, and evidence for black holes from several key experiments.
